Deborah’s Little Lambs Nursery
Deborah Bosley, from SW Pennsylvania, is the professional reborn artist behind Deborah’s Little Lambs Nursery. She started her reborning career setting up this nursery in 2007. Since high school, though, Bosley had always been involved in art through a great variety of forms, such as oil on canvas, pencil, charcoal, etc…
Deborah Bosley received a Master Degree in Art in 1987 and became a member of the College of Reborn Art. She got the Master of Arts degree for Reborning in May 2014. For more than 12 years, Bosley has achieved many certificates, prizes and awards with her reborn babies. Besides, she is also well-known for delivering classes where she teaches others the art of reborning. She has never stopped learning to improve her knowledge and skills, and master new techniques. She has an AA (Associates of Art) in reborning.
In addition to her reborning art, she is interested in other forms of handicraft, such as quilting and crochet. All crocheted outfits that come with her reborn babies are handmade by herself. Before starting this career, she had always collected dolls. She learned about reborn babies by chance when searching online and she decided that it was something she would love to pursue, a dream come true as a doll collector.
Most of Bosley’s babies are painted with Che’Air Dry which doesn’t require being baked, except for the final sealing layer. If Genesis is used, the baby is painted with many layers and baked after each one. Bosley pays high attention to other details such as veins, mottling, nail tips and milk spots, to create the most realistic look for her babies. Differently to many other artists, Bosley hand-paints her reborns hair instead of hand-rooting, except for a small amount on top if requested.
Deborah Bosley also uses different sized glass beads for different parts of the body and polyfill in areas that needed to top off such as limbs and surround the beads, so that her reborn dolls are very similar in weight to a human baby.
